Education and employment are two of the greatest pillars of independence. Day 2 brought care leavers, practitioners, and advocates together to map a path forward — from classroom to career, across continents.
About This Day
The second day consisted of talks about approaches to employment from care leavers in Egypt and Germany, as well as an address by a reputed paediatric neuroradiologist in the United Kingdom. The Wateneya Society in Egypt presented their holistic approach to finding employment for care leavers and discussed a leadership programme designed to build employability skills.
A panel discussion expanded the conversation to a multinational perspective, with care-experienced young people sharing their insights from multiple countries.
