The Care Leavers Festival 2022 was a ten-day global celebration of resilience, connection, and advocacy — bringing care-experienced voices from every corner of the world onto a shared stage.
A Festival Born from Community
From 20 to 29 November 2022, the Care Leavers Community hosted its first Care Leavers Festival — ten consecutive days of live sessions, storytelling, advocacy, and learning. Each day explored a distinct theme drawn directly from the needs and aspirations of care leavers globally.
The festival built on the momentum of the 2020 International Care Leavers Convention and marked a new chapter: a space where care-experienced young people were not just participants, but the architects of the conversation.
