Care Leavers Festival 2022 – Day 3

Day 3 of 10
22 November 2022

Care leavers deserve a day the world recognises. Day 3 made the case — loudly and clearly — for an internationally recognised Care Leavers Day, bringing advocacy, visibility, and global solidarity into one shared conversation.

About This Day

The third day focused on the need for an internationally recognised Care Leavers Day. The conversation was steered by a care-experienced young person from Ghana, who provided insight into the topic and why global recognition matters.

A live Twitter chat was organised by the Global Care Leavers Network in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Care Leavers Network to discuss visibility, stronger advocacy, awareness, and formal recognition by the United Nations.

Key Focus Areas: UN recognition · Global visibility · Advocacy reform · Care leaver rights
